Climate change will bring disease, food shortages, and...pythons?

PythonThe US Geological Survey released maps yesterday stating that as the nation warms, giant pythons are going to start taking up residence in up to one third of the country. Yes, giant pythons.

Apparently, the giant pythons are the cockroaches of the snake family. As long as it's warm, they are highly adaptable to all sorts of environments.

The forecasted "python line" stretches from San Francisco, down into Kansas and Texas, and up the East Coast into Virginia.

These snakes can grow up to 20 feet long and have been known to eat deer and alligators. Despite that, a spokesman for the national park service said that they are not normally dangerous to humans.
